Since 1947, the Edinburgh International Festival has brought powerful and significant work to delight and challenge the capital’s residents and visitors. Experience some of Edinburgh’s grandest venues, and to complement the performances on offer, a range of participatory events, talks, screenings and conversations with the artists themselves.
Edinburgh’s six major theatres and concert halls, a few smaller venues and often some unconventional ones too, come alive with the best music, theatre, opera and dance from around the globe.
The Festival presents events which cannot easily be achieved by any other UK arts organisation through innovative programming and a commitment to new work.
